Swire Properties Community Ambassador

The Company's volunteer team, Swire Properties Community Ambassador (SPCA), was formed in May 2001. 'Building an Integrated Community' is the mission of the team, which is composed of staff members from different departments, their friends and family members, as well as peers from companies under Swire Group. Over the years, SPCA has carried out various community services for different sectors of the society.

SPCA believes that volunteering should be much more than the provision of one-way services - those being served can also be the ones to serve! Hence since 2003 the group has been bringing different people in the community closer together via its integration programmes and volunteer fostering programmes. Beginning in 2004, various long-term programmes targeting this objective have been launched.

In 2001, SPCA rendered a total of 787 service hours and was awarded a Silver Award for Volunteer Service by Volunteer Movement, a scheme initiated by the Social Welfare Department. For the following five consecutive years, SPCA received the Gold Award for Volunteer Service, with a total of 4,599 service hours rendered within 2006.
