Swire Properties Showcases Multimedia Corporate Lounge at the Art Basel show in Hong Kong

Swire Properties today revealed its corporate lounge design at the Art Basel show in Hong Kong. Entering the third year in its support to the world's premier show for modern and contemporary art, this year Swire Properties is instigating dialogue on how art, creativity and technology affect today’s community with a multimedia art installation, short film and artist talks.

Echoing Swire Properties’ belief in creating communities of lasting value with creativity and innovation, the over 1000-sq-ft lounge themed “Ephemera” features an art installation that provides a unique and interesting space to inspire new thinking and connections. Visitors may also create their own unique artworks through a special interactive feature.

“Swire Properties has a rich history of supporting the arts and cultural endeavours,” said Guy Bradley, Chief Executive of Swire Properties. “We work with local and international artists to explore new inspiration and fresh perspectives in Hong Kong’s art scene. Our involvement in Art Basel showcases Swire Properties’ long-term pursuit of innovation and creativity.”

“Ephemera acts as an abstracted contemporary arcade to provide multiple ways of inhabiting and interacting with the space and the different events therein,” said Eric Schuldenfrei and Marisa Yiu, founders of ESKYIU which was commissioned for the design of project.

The lounge is part of the company’s overall programme of arts events taking place against the inspirational backdrop of Art Basel. Swire Properties also collaborated with Liberatum, an international multidisciplinary cultural brand, to produce the short film Artistry and Technology, which promotes dialogues in art and technology. The film features some of the most outstanding minds from the worlds of art, film and architecture, including Francis Ford Coppola, David Hockney, Pritzker prize winning architect Frank Gehry and Academy Award-winning actress Susan Sarandon, who will also recount her successful career at a salon talk at Swire Properties’ corporate lounge on 14 March. The film premiered at Swire Properties’ opening cocktail today, and will be available online at youtube.com/liberatum and www.swireproperties.com from 30 March 2015 onwards.

Swire Properties’ lounge is located at Level 1 Concourse, opposite Hall 1C entrance of HKCEC.
