“Places” is the strategic pillar that represents the heart of our SD 2030 Strategy. Through effective placemaking, which underscores our approach to transform spaces into vibrant and authentic destinations, we balance the aesthetic, functional, ecological and cultural impacts of the design and construction of our properties. We also aim to achieve long-term placekeeping to maintain and manage our assets, which enhance the lives of the people who live and work there. We pursue this strategic pillar through the following focus areas: master planning, supporting communities and local revitalisation, supporting the local economy, promoting liveability and enhancing connectivity.

Art Collection

Since the 1970s, when we first commissioned sculptures from local artists for our Taikoo Shing residential development, it has been Swire Properties’ practice to display art within our public spaces and architecture. Over the last four decades, we have displayed an extensive collection of contemporary art from around the world in our retail, office and residential premises. We welcome schools or groups to conduct self-guided Artwalk Tours to gain a deeper appreciation of our unique collection at Taikoo Place and Cityplaza. We have done the same in our portfolio in Mainland China. We have commissioned and installed a variety of contemporary art pieces from leading Chinese and international artists, for example, over 20 art pieces are on public display at Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu.
