Swire Properties relaunches Parkside of Pacific Place Apartments

Swire Properties today (Tuesday, 19th October 2004) announced the completion of the first phase of renovation at Parkside of Pacific Place Apartments.

Anticipating the changes in customers' profiles and taste as well as market trends, the Company has committed itself to a substantial refurbishment of the five-star serviced apartment complex, with the theme of 'Living in Vogue', to reflect this property's market lead.

"There has been an increase of capital investment in Hong Kong from China and overseas since the launch of CEPA. The positive market sentiment has stimulated interest in distinguished serviced apartments, and has allowed room for rental increases," said Swire Properties' Leasing Manager Jeremy Lamburn.

"Despite a new look and an array of five-star services and facilities, to meet this market demand for high quality serviced apartments, we have still kept rental increases to a moderate 5% to 10% compared with our pre-renovation tariff," Lamburn added.

Upon completion of the renovation programme, Parkside will incorporate an additional 27 apartments by increasing the number of popular one-bedroom apartments and the much-requested three-bedroom category.

"The reconfiguration of the inventory of apartments at Parkside was designed to better address the needs of the current market. On the other hand, we have also upgraded the apartments' communication options, such as broadband Internet and additional telephone and data lines, that will meet and even exceed the communication needs of our patrons," explained Lamburn.

Derived from a Contemporary-Oriental design concept, all furniture and fittings create an ambience that is both chic and minimalist, yet calm and cosy. The signature art piece 'Abacus' - a traditional Chinese calculator consisting of the three basic design elements of point, line and surface - reflects the designer's appreciation of Chinese aesthetics, culture and wisdom.

Parkside offers a total of 270 furnished serviced suites, with one and two bedroom suites in its West Wing and three bedroom suites in its East Wing. Occupying floors 11 to 37 of the same tower as Conrad Hong Kong, the apartments are in sizes ranging from 1,220 to 2,650 sq. ft. The entire programme is scheduled for completion in 2005.
