Swire Properties’ Community Ambassador Programme held a three-day carnival “LOVE’S TEAM" between 14 and 16 October 2016 at ArtisTree, Taikoo Place. Partnering with 15 social welfare organisations with an aim to promote social inclusion and community care, LOVE’S TEAM featured stalls selling handicrafts, experiential workshops and live performances.
LOVE’S TEAM is the first cross-sector community event in Hong Kong initiated by a corporate and co-organised by multiple social welfare organisations. From conceptualisation and event organisation to venue decoration, the event thoroughly demonstrates the spirit of cooperation and teamwork amongst the participating charitable organisations. Evolving around the theme of “upcycling” and with the help of the event’s creative partner and co-organising social welfare organisations, St. James' Settlement’s Upcycling Centre, the charitable organisations closely collaborated on designing and producing original art pieces and handicrafts with recycled materials for charity sale.
Over 1,350 Ambassadors from Hong Kong and Mainland China pitched in to create a variety of handmade products and help in the operation of the event. The successful occasion received over 8,000 visitors and raised over HK$870,000 with the help of matching funds from the Swire Group Charitable Trust. Donations went to the 15 partnering organisations to support their programmes.
The event has won the coveted Outstanding Partnership Project Award 2017/18 from The Hong Kong Council of Social Service at its Caring Company Partnership Expo 2018, as a recognition in meeting the needs of the community through outstanding partnership projects, and especially to commend the effort and contribution made through cross-sector cooperation.
