The Village at Sanlitun opens the first phase

The stores at The Village will be opening progressively over the summer months, bringing a host of international brands and local rising stars to this open-plan leisure, culture and shopping community in the heart of Sanlitun.

, Swire Properties’ first integrated commercial project in China, announces its first phase opening from mid-July, with brands opening progressively prior to the Beijing Olympic Games.

The Village is pleased to share that tenants opening during its first phase cover the restaurant & bar, fashion & accessories, sports apparels and electronics categories, as well as a number of new brands to Beijing.

Together with the new brands on offer, The Village will also be introducing to Beijing a range of China, Asian and global flagship stores. The first brand off the starting blocks is adidas, which made its phenomenal mark with the opening of its largest store in the world at midnight on 4th July, 2008. In launching its global Brand Center at The Village, adidas will present visitors with the whole product range under one roof. Technology fans will be delighted to know that the first Apple Store in China will open this July. In addition MEGABOX will offer a cinematic experience unlike no other, with 1,700 seats across eight theatres showing the latest movies. Other popular brands new to Beijing, such asWild Orchid, Fossil and Steve Madden will bring consumers a unique shopping experience. In terms of dining opportunities, Hong Kong’s UNION Bar & Grill renowned for its contemporary menu is delighting Beijing palettes.

A variety of popular international and local brands, including Belle, Staccato, Dr. Martens, GEOX, Fanina Fanini, Nike, Mizuno, The North Face, Nautica, Vero Moda, Jack & Jones, Only, Lacoste, Casio and White Collar, will also open their doors at The Village this July.

“We are working hand-in-hand with retailers and all relevant government bodies to ensure that The Village South is open prior to the Olympic Games. We are currently liaising with tenants on their opening dates so as to offer visitors a good sense of ‘The Village experience’, and we are pleased to see over 20 stores joining us in opening their doors for visitors from mid-July. We will see retailers progressively opening their stores before the Olympics,” said Mr. Tim Jones, General Manager of The Village at Sanlitun.
