Environmental Policy

1. As a developer, owner and operator of mixed-use properties, Swire Properties Limited (the “Company”) is committed to managing and reducing the environmental risks and impacts associated with the company’s operations. 
2. It is the policy of the Company to:
  (a) implement an environmental management system;
  (b) adopt a building whole lifecycle approach to identifying the environmental risks and impacts associated with the Company’s assets and setting targets to continually improve the environmental performance across our business activities; 
  (c) protect the environment and manage our activities to minimise any potential negative environmental impacts, including prevention of pollution;
  (d) ensure the availability of information and resources for setting, monitoring and regular review of the Company’s environmental objectives and targets; 
  (e) maintain environmental policies and standards that meet or exceed legal requirements and integrate industry best practices into operations and services; 
  (f) educate and enhance employees’ environmental awareness; 
  (g) take into account environmental considerations in the Company’s procurement practices and in the selection process of supplier and contractors; 
  (h) promote the use of environmentally acceptable materials and technology in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of Company premises; 
  (i) communicate the Company's environmental policy, report management strategy and performance to those with whom the Company works, including employees, contractors, suppliers, tenants, customers, joint venture partners and other stakeholders; 
  (j)

engage the Company’s key stakeholders, including employees, contractors, suppliers, tenants, customers, joint venture partners and other stakeholders to understand their expectations and priorities on significant environmental issues to the Company; and

  (k) encourage environmentally responsible actions among our employees, contractors, suppliers, tenants, customers, joint venture partners and other stakeholders of the Company.

Performance (Environment) Working Group of the Company is responsible for implementing the environmental policy. 

4. The Company will review this Environmental Policy from time to time as appropriate, and in any event, once every three years.
