In the Carbon Disclosure Project*, we showed that our accumulated electricity saving was an estimated 15,000 MWh in 2007, which equates to a total reduction of 11,902 tonnes of CO2e emission. From our stakeholder Retail tenant (Pacific Place): Swire Properties has carried out many innovative environmental initiatives, e.g. crushed glass paving*, and water-cooled air-conditioning to reduce energy consumption. Swire Properties should also report on its environmental policy and efforts under the Carbon Disclosure Project. * We conducted a pilot study in 2006 to recycle waste glass bottles for use in new paving bricks, which achieved similar performance to bricks produced with virgin materials.
