EHS Steering Committee
Swire Properties' EHS Steering Committee (EHSSC) was
formed in 2002 to support the environmental initiatives
of Swire Group Environmental Committee and to drive
EHS performance strategies within Swire Properties.
The EHSSC will evolve into Sustainable Development Steering
Committee and develop action plans for implementation.
Environmental Management and
Awareness Training
Visit here for our Environmental
Policy
Our Environmental Awareness Training covers aspects
such as air, energy, waste and water management. It
also illustrates the efforts of the Company and how
employees can contribute.
Environmental Performance Evaluation
and Monitoring
From
our stakeholder
Government:
In terms of adopting a Safety
Management System, Swire Properties has been
proactive in going beyond compliance. It would be
worthwhile to report on the Company's health
and safety policy, EHS challenges ahead and
plans to deal with them. |
We continue to develop and operate new buildings to
achieve the highest rating according to the Building
Environmental Assessment Method (BEAM), which in turn
gives us a comprehensive guideline on environmental
aspects and provides a platform for benchmarking with
the latest international standards.
We are among the first wave of property companies to
establish an online EHS database system for collecting
environmental data from various commercial portfolios
and construction sites.
Health and Safety Management
and Safety Management System (SMS)
Visit here for our Safety
and Health Policy
Since 2003, we have implemented SMS as part of our
daily commitment to workplace safety and have been conducting
independent audits on our safety performance for continuous
improvement.
SMS Steering Committee and Awareness
Training
A Safety Management System Steering Committee (SMSSC)
was established to set strategies for the Company and
drive health and safety awareness through training of
our employees.
Procurement and Supply Chain
An Environmental Procurement Portal customised for
procurement of building materials with preferred product
list and EHS management plan requirements for service
providers was launched in November 2007. To further
address corporate social responsibility issues in supply
chain, a task force will be formed to identify key risks
and action plan in 2008.
