Health and Safety Performance
of our Contractors
We actively engage with our contractors in conducting
and evaluating their health and safety performance.
An example of this is highlighted in a new construction
at Pacific Place:
One Stop Solution for Dust Control
Our contractor, Hsin Chong Construction (Asia) Ltd,
developed a dust control solution which was used in
our hotel renovation project at Pacific Place in 2007.
The project team found that general site watering was
not effective to mitigate dust from the demolition under
our site conditions. Therefore, a DIY dust suppressor
was developed to remove the dust particles.
This effective dust control solution
won the '2007 Hong Kong Construction Environmental Award
- Innovation Environmental Award' and the 'Occupational
Health Award 2007/08 - Prevention of the Pneumoconiosis
Category (Excellence Award)'
