The new Swire's Concept Masterplan
for Kai Tak submitted in November 2004 aims to provide a new
urban living experience based on the principles of value creation
and sustainable development suitable for a world city economy. |

|
The objective of Swire's holistic
vision is to encourage and begin to formulate alternative approaches
to planning around the Harbour which finally realise the most
critical goals for sustainable, accessible and environmentally
friendly Harbourfront development, as promoted by the Government.
Rather than treat Kai Tak as a separate, unconnected development, Swire proposes that the Kai Tak Masterplan build upon the holistic planning principles behinds its Cultural Harbour proposal, to strengthen, nurture, and expand the heart and fabric of the city rather than for each new development to be considered in isolation. |
