Provide green
living for community
The open vistas lining the waterfront will reach deep into the
surrounding communities through an expansive, tree-lined Kai
Tak Park. This will be the first step in lining the entire harbour
with a continuous, green and naturally-shaded waterfront, complete
with forested corridor, which will create a stronger natural
link from the surrounding hills to the water.

Improve water
for boating cove
An underwater capping system will be installed in the Kai Tak Approach Channel to improve the water, making it suitable for a boating cove. The entire area from the Kai Tak Nullah to the Kai Tak Approach Channel will be cleaned up and converted to recreational use.

Convert typhoon
shelter into marina
The narrower northern part of the current Kwun Tong Typhoon Shelter will be cleaned and converted into a vibrant community yacht club and marina. The rest of the shelter will remain in operation. Retaining the historic, local colour of the typhoon shelter will contrast and enhance the serenity of the adjacent yacht club and marina.

Create economic
and social value
Lower density residential development with commercial destinations will provide the catalyst for urban renewal and complement higher density development in surrounding areas. By maximising public access to the entire waterfront, both economic and social value will be enhanced.

Introduce a new,
sustainable solution
Waterfront living spreads value and amenity into surrounding neighbourhoods, enhancing the value of residential developments along its edge and the rest of Kowloon. By limiting building heights and extending the park deep into the neighbourhood, new opportunities for high-quality living become available. Adjacent schools will share fields with the community and the park will create an expanded viewing window to the rest of Kowloon and Lion Rock.
