Design and Construction

Continue to apply the design software to eliminate waste during the design and construction phase of all our new buildings where applicable.

All new buildings to achieve the highest rating under HK-BEAM.

Influencing Stakeholders

Improve the water supply networks in Taikoo Shing so that buildings in the district can take part in the Government's pilot scheme for the use of water-cooled air-conditioning systems.

Establish dialogue with our stakeholders, such as tenants and contractors, to understand their need so that their environmental performance can be improved.

Green Procurement

Set up a portal to lay down guidelines for environmental procurement.

Provide resources for procurement of environmentally preferred products and materials.
Implement an EHS Management Plan to control works above HK$200,000 or ones with high environmental impacts.

Reporting and Communication

Continue to disclose our EHS performance via publishing EHS Report annually.

Sustainable Food

Consider to consume environmentally friendly food in all corporate functions.

Promote this practice to our stakeholders via experience sharing.

Health and Safety

Target accident rate to below 35 per 1,000 workers.

Achieve a score above 90% in the 2007 Health and Safety audits of our commercial portfolios.

Enhance experience sharing in safety and health with other companies and organisations by joining external competitions and events.

Enhance safety knowledge of frontline staff via in-house safety trainings that are tailor-made for property management to reduce injury rate.
Climate Change / Energy Management

Conduct a 'Best in Class' benchmarking within our sector on a global basis, in response to climate change issue and establish plans to become 'Best in Class'.

Maintain our GHG emissions inventory in accordance with the international GHG Protocol, and be part of a group-wide initiative to disclose our carbon footprint in Carbon Disclosure Project.

Explore opportunities to increase planting areas in selected properties, and to include potential areas such as rooftops, outdoor sites, etc.

Specify all CO2 used in CO2 type fire extinguishers to be reused during servicing.

Aim to achieve extra annual energy saving of 1.5 million kWh, equivalent to approximately 1,000 tonnes of CO2 emission.

Improve air-conditioning's air distribution performance with the aim to enhance thermal comfort at a higher indoor temperature.

Action Blue Sky

Actively participate in Clean Air Charter's initiatives.

Control Volatile Organic Compounds emissions via choice of consumer products such as paints, cleansing agents, adhesive and floor polish.

Waste Management

Continue exploring waste reduction initiatives through the use of new technology and recycling initiatives.

Make reference to European Union directive to properly treat electronic waste within the company, and extend the practices to our tenants in commercial / retail premises and residents in residential buildings.

Establish a Green Exchange portal to facilitate reusing and recycling amongst our colleagues.

Promoting Environmental Awareness

Organise environmental programmes amongst staff and, if applicable, extend the initiatives to our commercial portfolios to deliver environmental messages to our stakeholders.

Continue the Green Ambassador Programme to educate children on general environmental messages and environmentally friendly practices in their daily life.
