Swire Properties Announces First Sale at OPUS HONG KONG

Swire Properties is pleased to announce the sale of an apartment at OPUS HONG KONG, the first residential project in Asia designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Frank Gehry.

The 6,755 sq ft apartment on the 8th floor of OPUS HONG KONG, also known as 傲璇, has been sold for HK$430 million. The sale follows the earlier leasing of Duplex A, one of the double-level garden apartments with a private pool and garden, which has been leased at a monthly rental of HK$850,000 for a three year term.

“These two transactions mark an important milestone for OPUS HONG KONG,” said Martin Cubbon, Chief Executive of Swire Properties. “We embarked on this project with Frank Gehry with the intention of producing an exceptionally rare work of architecture; these transactions demonstrate the market’s appreciation for our achievement.”

Situated at 53 Stubbs Road amidst the green slopes of The Peak, OPUS HONG KONG is a 12-storey building consisting of two double-level garden apartments and ten single-level apartments ranging from 6,000 to 6,900 sq ft, each unique in design and filling an entire floor of the building. The building’s unusual helical structure and exceptional location afford residents spectacular views of the city below and the surrounding landscape.

“The Chinese name for OPUS HONG KONG [傲璇 or pinyin ào xuán] translates as a beautiful and rare piece of jade,” explained Adrian To, General Manager, Residential at Swire Properties. “It describes OPUS HONG KONG as an architectural gem of which we are understandably proud.”
