Cityplaza today announced the opening of Eslite Spectrum Hong Kong at Cityplaza shopping mall in early 2016, taking over two storeys of lettable floor area spanning over 49,000 sq ft in the mall. The lifestyle bookstore will further enhance Cityplaza’s trade mix and quality retail offerings, reinforcing Cityplaza’s unique position as the largest shopping and entertainment mall on Hong Kong Island.
“We are very pleased to see the first collaboration between Swire Properties and Eslite Spectrum,” said Alvin Kong, Director, Retail at Swire Properties. “We are excited to be working with an original and trend-setting brand such as Eslite, and we are confident that our shared creative vision will bring about a refreshing shopping centre experience for our visitors at Cityplaza.”
“Cityplaza completed a major enhancement programme last year. Riding on this momentum, we are continuing our refinement of trade mix with more exceptional brands,” said Fiona Shiu, General Manager of Cityplaza. “Hosting the largest Eslite Spectrum store on Hong Kong Island, Cityplaza will expand its diversity to explore more possibilities for the city’s retail scene.”
In 2014, Cityplaza completed a HK$100 million facelift which saw the upgrade of the mall’s facilities, enhancement to interior finishes as well as the introduction of over 30 stylish local and international retail brands. With the creation of two themed zones – “The Beauty Zone” and “The Family and Lifestyle Zone”, consumers can now enjoy comfortable and easy access to their favourite brands under one roof.
Eslite Spectrum hopes that its new store in Cityplaza can continue to bring the energy of reading and cultural creativity to Hong Kong and integrate it into Hongkongers’ daily lives, sharing the experience of family time and a relaxed lifestyle experience to make the city a better place. Since the opening of its first Hong Kong store in Causeway Bay in 2012, Eslite Spectrum has been extending its core values of “humanity, arts, creativity and life” to the city. The bookstore chain respects and learns from Hong Kong’s cultural traits with the hope of soothing and calming millions’ souls in the city.
Recommended as “Asia’s Best” bookstore by Time magazine (Asia Edition), Eslite Spectrum has been lauded for its creative retail spaces, acting as a cultural hub with its offerings of a wide collection of books, staged exhibitions, live arts events, and exciting dining experiences for shoppers. The bookstore has more than 40 branches in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
