Swire Properties’ 50th Anniversary Celebrations Continue With Bespoke Collection Of Arts Programmes

As part of its year-long 50th anniversary festivities in 2022, Swire Properties has launched an exciting line-up of world-class arts programmes which celebrates the campaign’s theme of “ORIGINAL. ALWAYS.” and features collaborations with a host of hand-picked renowned and up-and-coming artists.

Spanning contemporary and digital art, these programmes and forward-thinking artists are the epitome of originality and are set to provide exceptional and immersive arts and culture experiences for local communities.

They include: the addition of “Shelf II”, a major new sculpture by internationally-renowned contemporary artist Antony Gormley, to Swire Properties’ permanent art collection; a Non-Fungible token (NFT) Artwork Collection, limited-edition and specially created together with ten local and international digital artists, to be gifted as free art drops later this year; and “Orbstellar”, an immersive space-travel-themed installation at Pacific Place where audiences can experience the wonders and mysteries of the galaxy.

To celebrate 10 years of collaboration with Art Basel Hong Kong, which will take place from 27 to 29 May, Swire Properties’ VIP lounge this year is set to feature a custom-made space designed by local architectural studio ESKYIU. “Bags: Inside Out”, the critically-acclaimed exhibition by the Victoria and Albert Museum, London (V&A), will continue its tour to five of the Company’s retail centres as a kick-off of the Company’s 50th anniversary celebratory programme.

Tim Blackburn, Chief Executive of Swire Properties said, “Originality and creativity are integral parts of our placemaking efforts. Over the past half century, this approach has inspired us to enrich local neighbourhoods and make art and culture a part of everyday life. Our developments are renowned for effortlessly combining these elements to create places where people can thrive. I can’t think of a better way to continue our anniversary celebrations than by sharing such inspiring experiences with our communities.”
