Swire Properties’ Hong Kong Office Portfolios Obtain Highest WiredScore & SmartScore Certifications

World-class smart infrastructure offers tenants exceptional user-experience and digital connectivity

  • Two Taikoo Place and 46-56 Queen’s Road East are the first buildings in Hong Kong to be WiredScore & SmartScore certified, achieving the highest certification level of ‘Platinum’
  • Taikoo Place and Pacific Place are confirmed as first WiredScore-certified portfolios in Hong Kong, with 15 commercial buildings certified in total

Swire Properties announced its achievement of the ‘Platinum’ certification, the highest certification level for WiredScore and SmartScore for its newest Triple Grade-A office buildings, Two Taikoo Place and 46-56 Queen’s Road East.

WiredScore certifications for 13 other commercial buildings across the Taikoo Place and Pacific Place portfolios were also confirmed, reinforcing the Company’s status as the industry leader in designing and building the city’s most innovative, smart buildings and the natural choice for digitally-enabled businesses in the region.

Founded in 2013, WiredScore is the global benchmark for digital connectivity in property developments, assessing their ability to meet the needs of the modern-day office tenant. SmartScore, launched in 2021, certifies best-in-class smart buildings that deliver a fully integrated user experience through a modern, digital platform to improve efficiency and are fully future-proofed to meet the highest standards of sustainability.

‘Platinum’ certifications for both WiredScore and SmartScore elevate Two Taikoo Place and 46-56 Queen’s Road East into the top 0.6%[1] of market-leading smart office buildings globally, thereby providing a workplace with exceptional technological foundations and an inspirational user-experience.

Don Taylor, Director, Office at Swire Properties said, “Digital connectivity, resilience, cutting-edge technology and sustainability are key components of our long-term placemaking efforts. These certifications validate our continuous investment to ensure that we provide a secure, reliable and advanced infrastructure. Smart features and amenities that support our tenants’ daily operations give them the confidence and peace of mind to adopt the latest workplace solutions. This, in turn, directly promotes productivity and operational efficiency, as well as fostering employee engagement and health and wellness within our portfolios.”

“Combined with our amenity provision, these efforts reinforce Swire Properties’ commitment to placemaking as a leading developer in Hong Kong and to Taikoo Place as a Global Business District. Our track record of leading by example in our industry does not stop here: we will continue to reinvest in our assets so as to upgrade workplace solutions and programming to meet the evolving demands from our office users.”

The WiredScore and SmartScore ‘Platinum’ certifications reflect the significant and ongoing investment which Swire Properties has committed to smart placemaking.

Tenants and their employees can enjoy a seamless digital experience at Taikoo Place and Pacific Place, Hong Kong’s first 5G-enabled commercial portfolios, through a user-friendly mobile app which enables users to navigate and enjoy both portfolios’ broad range of services, amenities and programmes available. To help to facilitate tenant operations, an integrated tenant portal is provided, allowing digital access to building management and facilities services.

Behind the scenes, the Company’s market-leading Neuron Digital Twin system utilises artificial intelligence to analyse and ‘learn’ from large, historical data-sets to optimise the efficiency of building systems. These learnings are then deployed to establish trends, forecast energy usage, optimise the running of a multitude of building systems, and detect faults, which allow predictive maintenance.

Health and wellness has been fully incorporated into both new buildings through smart features including contactless building access, IoT-driven smart sensors and indoor air quality monitors. A wealth of data-driven, gamified sustainability programmes are available to tenants as part of Swire Properties’ highly successful Green Performance Pledge (GPP) programme, an action-oriented approach offering tenants tools and guidelines to evaluate and improve their sustainability performance.

Thomasin Crowley, Global Director of APAC at WiredScore added, “We're delighted to be working closely with Swire Properties in their ongoing effort to deliver the best user experience, ensuring all their Hong Kong offices meet the growing demand for best-in-class digital infrastructure and technology. This exciting partnership, in conjunction with our launch in Hong Kong, is truly a significant milestone for us. We look forward to deepening our collaboration with Swire Properties to make buildings in Hong Kong smarter and better connected.”
