Swire Properties And LVMH Join Forces At LVMH’s LIFE In Stores Awards

Swire Properties was delighted to participate in LVMH’s biennial LIFE In Stores Awards in Paris as a major sustainability partner. Established in 2016, these awards celebrate the most innovative and effective initiatives designed to elevate the environmental performance of LVMH Group’s maisons and stores.

Tim Blackburn, Chief Executive of Swire Properties, was invited to discuss the importance of strategic collaboration and partnership in achieving shared sustainability goals.

Last month, Swire Properties and LVMH signed a strategic partnership agreement to enhance the ESG performance of LVMH’s retail, office and F&B premises across the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong.  This collaboration includes the fit-out of LVMH’s new stores and offices, as well as the upgrading of existing stores, in the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong and will include the brand’s existing and new office premises at Taikoo Place, Hong Kong.

"We are delighted to be building this strategic sustainability partnership with LVMH, " said Tim.  "As a global sector leader in sustainability within the real estate industry, we believe that impactful sustainability requires close collaboration, and that partner engagement is essential. This new partnership will cover LVMH's premises through our bespoke tenant engagement programmes, including the Green Performance Pledge for office tenants and the Green Kitchen Initiative for F&B tenants.

“Most notably, LVMH will be the launch partner for our new Green Retail Partnership framework, dedicated to improving sustainability in the retail environment. We anticipate that this partnership will provide a valuable platform to exchange knowledge on emerging sustainability topics, including climate resilience, nature and biodiversity, people and wellbeing, and supply chain management."

A key aspect of the partnership is the implementation of the Eco-design Checklist, developed jointly by both companies. This checklist outlines 15 impactful measures for sustainable store design and fit-out, including specific technical standards and criteria for lighting, interior layouts, use of eco-friendly materials, and energy and water management. Swire Properties will provide support and guidance to LVMH throughout the implementation process.
