As a developer, owner and operator of mixed-use properties, Swire Properties Limited (the “Company”) is committed to providing and maintaining a healthy and safe environment for all employees, customers, contractors and members of our community during their association with the Company.

While all operations involve risk, we aim to achieve the ultimate goal of zero harm through demonstrating solid leadership and effective management of occupational health and safety in the design, planning and conduct of all business activities. In our operations our priority is to safeguard the health and safety of all stakeholders. It is the policy of the Company to:

(a)

Provide adequate and appropriate resources to promote and foster a strong safety culture and to meet health and safety goals and targets set in business plans; 

(b)

Ensure that all employees and contractors have the training, skills, knowledge and resources to carry out all work activities safely; all managers have a responsibility to ensure that employees and associates are competent and aware of applicable health and safety best practices;

 (c)

Review our Health and Safety Management System annually to ensure that it remains applicable, compliant with the relevant health and safety legislation, standards and codes of practice where we operate, and meets or exceeds international best practice, applicable laws and regulations. Seek continuous improvement to match changes in community expectations, business performance, scientific knowledge and technology;

 (d)

Establish health and safety KPIs and implement measures to monitor performance and to achieve significant and continuous improvement. Comments from employees are considered an important part of the review process;

 (e)

Provide effective communication channels for incident and hazard reporting, tracking and management and ensure that health and safety policies and performance are well communicated to all interested stakeholders;

 (f)

Require contractors to demonstrate the same commitment in health and safety;

 (g)

Conduct regular safety inspections and audits with a view to proactively identifying unsafe practices or activities and ensuring compliance with this policy;

 (h)

Ensure proper systems to encourage incident reporting (including contractors) and to investigate incidents to understand root cause so that we learn, improve, and share to prevent reoccurrence;  

 (i)

Understand and support, where necessary, the mental wellbeing of our employees by providing specialist support and assistance via the Employee Assistance Programme. 

 The Company will review this Health & Safety Policy from time to time as appropriate, and in any event, once every three years.
