Art Basel Hong Kong

Art Basel in 2023 marks the return of Swire Properties as Host Partner, as the fair welcomes the international art world back to Hong Kong with a robust program. An artistic installation entitled "Chromatic Reflections", created by international architects 10 Design for the Swire Properties VIP Lounge at Art Basel, will celebrate Swire Properties' five decades of creative placemaking and features our original 50th anniversary Art NFT Collection. The Lounge will host the revival of our live Dialogues Series; making its first appearance since 2019. Excitingly, the Alexie Glass-Kantor-curated 2023 Art Basel Encounters sector sees Gravity, an installation piece by Los Angeles-based conceptual artist Awol Erizku, premiere at Pacific Place; marking the sector's first foray into the public realm outside the fair. Additional highlights for Swire Properties Arts Month include the debut of “Urban Rocks” at ArtisTree, Taikoo Place, a contemporary art exhibition featuring a new series of sculptural works by Hong Kong-based French artist Polo Bourieau.

Art Basel Offsite Encounters at Pacific Place

Pacific Place Hosts Art Basel Hong Kong’s Offsite Encounters

For the first time, the Encounters sector will present works beyond the halls of Art Basel Hong Kong, in one of the public hearts of the city with a monumental installation at Pacific Place, 17 March – 2 April 2023. Presented by Ben Brown Fine Arts.

Encounters will feature 14 large-scale sculptures and installations under the theme ‘This present, moment’: ‘ Every project in this year’s sector considers in some way how we can hold space – how we might be present – individually and collectively in the singularity and precarity of this moment,’ Alexie Glass-Kantor, Curator for Encounters, Art Basel Hong Kong.

Swire Properties Dialogue Series 2023

Swire Properties Dialogue Series

We at Swire Properties are excited to present the Dialogue Series at Art Basel Hong Kong as part of our mission to build meaningful connections between communities. This series of live talks provides a unique platform for culture-makers, artists, and curators to explore how digital art is shaping our future; how contemporary art can be used as a tool for reinterpreting history; and the relationship between art and architecture. We hope these conversations will inspire new ideas that bring people together in an engaging way!
