Opened in August 2008, The Opposite House is the first hotel from Swire Hotels. With an emerald glass architecture designed by the world-renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, the concept of The Opposite House is a mix of the modern and the traditional. Breathtaking from the outside and equally stunning within, the design is one of seamless space, allowing the 99-room hotel to convey a sense of serenity and calmness in the midst of the vibrant street life of Taikoo Li Sanlitun.

Situated within the embassy district, The Opposite House offers guests first-class amenities and facilities. More than half of the guest rooms have an size of 753 sq ft (70 sqm), and its facilities included a 22-metre stainless steel swimming pool, a gym and private function space as well as three restaurants and a lounge bar.

The hotel’s well-regarded sculpture collection, inspired by the textile-clad façade of the architecture, represents ten of the best Chinese artists of the moment, from Beijing, Hong Kong, Australia and London.
